Turner Gill is a Jayhawk

Gasp...we knew this day would come, but it still hurts...because we are selfish, and we don't know where our program will go without Turner.  However, before I talk about us...lets talk about the man.

In 2006, I met the man, who was quiet down to earth, and genuine.

Some coaches you know are out for money, legacy and fame. Turner was a man who was baffled when he was forced to pick a new design for UB football..."I'm a football coach and now I have to do fashion design"  he said something to that effect.  I know me as a coach would take the opporutnity to do something iconic, Turner, just picked colors and went back to teaching and coaching.

At the end of the year as a Mid major, you always have to play the is my coach and as a result my program going to pack the U-Haul and skip town.  This year we are relatively safe, the benefits of going 4-7 (so far) but I feel Turner Gill has 7 potential offers:

It appears now that any interest Buffalo coach Turner Gill may have had in the Western Kentucky job is officially gone.

Multiple sources confirmed to the Daily News today that the scenario seems unlikely at this point.

The original source that informed the Daily News of Gill’s initial interest this week told me today that talks have broken down considerably over the past 24 hours – citing financial concerns as a major reason. The source also confirmed that talks between the two parties had been limited at best.

 WKU made no sense, however with the final game coming up I will tell you later where Turner might go, if anywhere.

Bowling Green Daily News...Not So Fast of the Week

So I was late night web surfing and I found this article from the Bowling Green Daily News Blog http://bgdnwkublog.wordpress.com/:

A source close to current Buffalo head coach Turner Gill told the Daily News this morning that Gill has interest in the open position for head football coach at Western Kentucky.

and later they updated:

The source who told the Daily News on Wednesday that Gill had interest in the job, said representatives for Gill spoke with Selig today and that discussions about Gill and his interest in WKU have begun.
